Diane Gabl Kratz is a two-time IAM Strategy 300 World's Leading IP Strategist for her accomplishments maximizing IP value. A USPTO-registered patent attorney, she is regular faculty at the Practicing Law Institute (PLI), teaching and publishing articles on incentivizing invention. She is also an IAPP Certified Information Privacy Professional for both Europe and the United States (CIPP/E, CIPP/US).
Previously, Diane developed patent portfolios at a Fortune 500 tech company, advising on strategy, prosecution, and IP-related transactions. Most notably, she launched a company-wide inventor recognition program that increased invention disclosures by 100%. She also headed the global trademark portfolio, leading strategy and administering worldwide registration, licensing, and enforcement.
A four-time Super Lawyers Rising Star, Diane began her career in private practice at the Silicon Valley offices of esteemed international law firms Morrison & Foerster and Sidley Austin. Dr. Howard has extensive experience in developing global IP and business strategies in various industries, including financial technology, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical devices, and consumer electronics.
Kelvan’s academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering and Biochemistry from the University of California, Berkeley; a Law degree (with emphases in business and Intellectual Property) from Berkeley Law School; and an Executive Business Strategy degree from Berkeley’s Haas Business School. Additionally, he is a patented inventor with five granted patents. He is a member of the California bar and a registered patent attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office Patent bar.
Ulysses Hui is the General Counsel and Chief Risk Management Officer of JDI Display America, part of Japan Display, a leading display supplier for mobile devices, which formed through the integration of the display companies of Sony, Toshiba and Hitachi in 2012 and went public on the Tokyo Stock Exchange in 2014. Ulysses has been with Japan Display since its launch, successfully guiding the Executive Team and business units throughout Japan Display Group’s global network on key business development, corporate, compliance, legal and IP issues, with a focus on strategic relationships with U.S. mobile, automotive and other customers and ecosystem partners. Ulysses started his career as an investment banker in New York, before receiving his J.D. from Stanford Law School and going on to represent tech clients in private practice in both IP trials and complex litigation and tech transactions for over twelve years in the Silicon Valley.
Jason Murata is a member of the firm’s intellectual property litigation group. His practice focuses primarily on patent and trade secret litigation, with a particular emphasis in the mechanical, chemical and pharmaceutical arts, including patent litigation and consultation arising under Section 505(j) of the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act.
David Green is Assistant General Counsel in Microsoft's IP Policy group, helping Microsoft define and execute its global copyright and related IP strategy. Dave has counseled extensively on a range of complex IP matters and litigation impacting Microsoft's products and services, including the launch of Xbox One, Xbox Music, Groove, and Windows 7/8/8.1. Previously, as AGC for Bill Gates's Corbis Corp, Dave handled its legal and business affairs. He launched its successful antipiracy program, and its GreenLight Rights and entertainment division. He developed successful licensing and business ventures with Marvel, Sony, Hallmark, MGM, Playboy, Universal, and Fox, and was production counsel on several critically praised films and TV specials. Dave began his legal career as Assistant Attorney General to the University of WA, advising on complex IP and licensing, privacy, tech transfer, and business matters. Dave has deep experience in copyright, technology, brand licensing, trade secrets, joint IP ventures, entertainment transactions involving digital media, talent, films, and promotions, acquisitions of media, rights, and technology companies, and intellectual property strategies relevant to online services, software, and technology. He has co-authored and testified on IP legislation Dave speaks frequently on IP matters, entertainment and licensing, and licensing strategies. He is a past Trustee of the US Copyright Society , and co-chaired the ABA's New Media & Innovation committee. He serves as Board Member for the UW Program in IP Management and Business Development, and has taught its IP Management course. Apart from Microsoft, Dave co-founded McQueen Racing LLC (with the iconic Steve McQueen family), launching projects with Porsche Design,Triumph, and Troy Lee Designs. Dave is executive producer for the award winning films"I am Steve McQueen" (debut on Spike TV) and The Man & Le Mans (selected for prestigious Cannes Classic film festival).
Tim Croll is Deputy General Counsel, IP at Cypress Semiconductor Corporation, which delivers high-performance, high-quality solutions at the heart of today's most advanced embedded systems, from automotive, industrial and networking platforms to highly interactive consumer and mobile devices. As such, Mr. Croll is involved with many aspects of Cypress’s Intellectual Property management, including patent and other IP portfolio development and monetization. During the past quarter century Mr. Croll has worked as Director of Intellectual Property at Spansion, and as an IP attorney at LSI Corp., Agilent Technologies , Hewlett-Packard and in private practice. Prior to law school, Mr. Croll worked as an engineer in Silicon Valley.
Phil Woo leads and works with teams on the deep technical issues in intellectual property matters of commercial significance for high-technology companies. With a degree in electrical engineering and substantial real-world experience in the high-tech industry, clients have entrusted him as lead technical counsel for numerous matters, in both litigation and transactions.

Andrew Radsch is an experienced trial lawyer in Ropes & Gray’s intellectual property litigation group, where he represents clients in patent and trade secret litigation in jurisdictions across the country. He has experience across a spectrum of industries and technologies, including computer software and hardware, consumer electronics, wireless communications, semiconductor manufacturing, and medical devices. Andrew, who has been selected by his peers as a Super Lawyers Rising Star in IP Litigation, also works frequently with clients to develop and execute on offensive and defensive IP and licensing strategies.
Andy Sachs is a Director and Corporate Counsel of Getty Images. He has a strong background in litigation, issue advocacy, government affairs, public policy, compliance, and risk mitigation. Andy earned his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School and his Bachelors in Marketing from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Jill Schmidt is Assistant General Counsel, Litigation at Genentech, Inc., where she has managed high-stakes patent infringement cases and other commercial litigation matters since 2016. She has overseen dozens of IPR proceedings, multiple district court cases filed under the Biologics Price Competition and Innovation Act (“BPCIA,” codified at 42 U.S.C. § 262), and related litigation in other jurisdictions concerning foreign counterpart patents. Prior to joining Genentech, Ms. Schmidt was an attorney at the Palo Alto office of Sidley Austin LLP and, before that, at the Silicon Valley office of Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, where her practice focused on patent litigation. Ms. Schmidt clerked for the Honorable William H. Alsup at the United States District Court for the Northern District of California and the Honorable Paul R. Michel at the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. She earned her J.D. from Stanford Law School.
Tom is the Senior Director for Litigation and Licensing for ASML. From 2016 to 2019 he worked at ASML's Netherlands headquarters as part of the team defending ASML in worldwide patent litigation against one of its chief competitors. Previously, Tom managed patent litigation for Lenovo, and has also held in-house positions at EMC and Sybase. In private practice Tom was a partner at Fredrikson & Byron, a Minneapolis law firm with a Chambers-ranked IP practice. Tom has an M.S. in Computer Science and obtained his law degree from the University of Michigan.
Jennifer Bush’s practice focuses on representing clients in patent litigation and in post-grant proceedings.
Jennifer began her career with a decade of patent prosecution experience in a wide range of technical fields, before shifting her focus to patent litigation. She also has substantial experience with post-grant proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), such as inter partes reviews (IPRs), post-grant reviews (PRGs), patent appeals and reexaminations. To date, Jennifer has served as counsel of record in 28 PGRs, making her one of the most experienced lawyers in these types of proceedings.
In addition to providing legal services for her clients, Jennifer has been a Lecturer-in-Law at the University of California, Davis School of Law, where she taught patent prosecution and practice, and has lectured on topics related to patent law at the University of California, Hastings College of the Law and Santa Clara University School of Law. She is also a member of the faculty at the Practising Law Institute, and co-chair of the annual Fundamentals of Patent Prosecution boot camp.
During law school Jennifer was awarded the faculty-selected Mabie Award for Outstanding Graduate, peer-selected Graduating Student of the Year, and served as Editor-in-Chief of the Santa Clara Law Review.
Prior to rejoining Fenwick & West, Jennifer was General Counsel with Apercen Partners LLC, serving as sole counsel for seven entities spanning a breadth of legal issues, including IP, employment, contract, securities, tax and general compliance matters.
Mr. Levitt’s 30 years of legal experience centers in the corporate sector where he has been at the forefront of intellectual property changes. As Chief Intellectual Property Counsel at Dow Corning Corporation, Mr. Levitt led a global team of more than 25 employees to advance and protect Dow Corning’s diverse technologies and markets. Previously, Mr. Levitt served as corporate counsel at DuPont and General Counsel of Solae, LLC, a joint venture by DuPont and Bunge.

Adam co-chairs the firm's Intellectual Property Litigation practice and co-chairs the firm’s Trade Secret and Employee Mobility practice. He is an experienced commercial litigator having litigated cases in federal and state courts for almost twenty years. Adam’s practice focuses on disputes involving patent infringement, trademark and trade dress infringement, trade secret misappropriation, licensing agreements, fraud and other complex commercial issues.
As lead litigation counsel, Adam has handled cases involving a wide variety of subject matter and technologies, including GPS locator beacons, back-up and restore software, direct I/O device communication software and related hardware, automated music selection software, automated tax preparation software and medical staffing software.
As Delaware counsel, Adam has partnered with out-of-state counsel on more than 200 cases before the District Court for the District of Delaware. He has been ranked as a leading practitioner by Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business for the past six years.
Before joining Young Conaway, Adam served as a law clerk to the Honorable Roderick R. McKelvie of the United States District Court for the District of Delaware.
Adam has represented on a pro bono basis veterans before the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims. He is a Past President of the Delaware Chapter of the Villanova Law School Alumni Association.
Sandeep Mandava heads the wireless communication practice at Dolcera. In his role, he manages and advises clients on IP globalization, litigation and other IP-related transactions. He also advises clients on offensive, defensive and monetary aspects related to IP.
Mr. Mandava has extensive experience in various industries, including wireless telecommunications, software, semiconductors, consumer electronics, and automotive. He formulated various strategies to examine and evaluate IP related to standards such as 4G, 5G, HEVC, and Qi. Mr. Mandava played a key role in several multibillion dollar IP licensing deals and lawsuits for his clients.
