Charles Middleton is in-house Counsel and a Director of Patents for Xperi, Corp and has been practicing IP law for about 13 years. He concentrates on patent prosecution and portfolio management for the company’s imaging and software portfolios. Charles has also been in-house IP counsel for Canon, Inc and Siemens Power Generation, where Charles was a principal design engineer for 15 years.
He was an associate in the patent prosecution group of Womble Carlyle Sandridge and Rice, PLLP in Atlanta as a prosecution attorney. While at Womble Carlyle, Charles prepared and successfully prosecuted patent applications relating to the mechanical and electrical arts.

Fergal Clarke is the director of IP business analysis at Lenovo, the world’s largest PC firm, which has major research centres in Yamato, Japan; Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen, China; and Raleigh, North Carolina.
Mr Clarke is responsible for providing business context to all IP-related activities and for ensuring that such activities are consistent with and supportive of the overall business strategy. Mark Taylor is an Assistant General Counsel in the Litigation, Competition, and Compliance Group at Microsoft, where he focuses on patent litigation. Before joining Microsoft, he was a partner in the IP group at Morgan Lewis, where he represented clients involved in IP litigation at the ITC and in district court. He also spent time on secondment to the IP Litigation group at Hewlett-Packard Company. Mark studied biomedical engineering at Virginia Commonwealth University and attended the George Washington University Law School.

Gemma Suh is a Senior Litigation Counsel at Nokia. She addresses pre-litigation disputes and manages offensive and defensive U.S. litigation for Nokia’s technologies and networks businesses in federal and state courts and before the International Trade Commission. In global disputes, Gemma is responsible for aligning the U.S. strategy with other jurisdictions and has managed international arbitrations related to patent licensing. Prior to joining Nokia, Gemma was an associate in the Silicon Valley office of Davis Polk & Wardwell. Gemma received her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley and her B.A. from the University of Georgia.
AJ is patent counsel at Thermo Fisher Scientific. He has twelve years of experience in practice and his experience includes patent litigation and oversight into the patent portfolio. AJ earned his bachelors degree from Santa Clara University and his JD from University of Arkansas School of Law.
Terence is Associate General Counsel at Cypress Semiconductor where he manages litigation and legal operations. Prior to Cypress, Terence was an associate at Kaye Scholer, Dewey & LeBoeuf, and Latham & Watkins. He also clerked for the Honorable Jeremy Fogel in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California. James Ragon is Director of intellectual property for the NAGRA Kudelski Group.Ragon’s principal responsibilities include patent portfolio management, patent licensing, and patent litigation management in the U.S. and internationally.
Prior to joining NAGRA, Ragon worked at the firm Dechert LLP in Mountain View, and before that he worked for both Chief Judge Phillis J. Lopa is Senior Director of Patent Strategy and Prosecution in TiVo’s Intellectual Property Group. Lopa earned her undergraduate degree from UC Davis in Computer Science and her law degree from Santa Clara University. She is a member of the California Bar and a registered Patent Attorney with U.S. Patent & Trademark Office. Lopa is fluent in Bengali, English and Hindi and can make her way around in French. Julie Holloway, resident in Latham & Watkins' San Francisco and Silicon Valley offices, is Co-Chair of the San Francisco office's Litigation & Trial Department and a member of the firm's Intellectual Property Litigation Practice.
Ms. Holloway has extensive experience in all aspects of patent litigation through trial. She has tried 14 patent cases in district court and before the US International Trade Commission. She has particular experience in cross-examining PhD technical experts on the complex technical issues that go to the heart of her opponent’s case.

Mr. Fitzpatrick is a member of the San Mateo Bar Association and a past -member of the California District Attorneys Association. Mr. Fitzpatrick received his J.D. in 1997 from Santa Clara University School of Law, where he received the American Jurisprudence Award in Patent Law and was the research editor for the Santa Clara Computer and High Technology Law Journal. He received a B.A. in 1994 from the University of California Berkeley. Mr. Fitzpatrick is admitted to practice in California, and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, U.S. District Courts for the Central, Eastern, Northern and Southern Districts of California, the District of Arizona and the Eastern District of Texas.

Travis has used his distinctive skillset to litigate technically complex patent cases to verdict, and obtain favorable settlements for clients such as AT&T, DIRECTV, Apple, and SanDisk. Travis has second-chaired both jury and bench trials in district court, handled numerous appeals before the Federal Circuit, and, as a registered patent attorney, served as lead and back-up counsel in post-grant proceedings (inter partes review and ex parte reexamination) at the PTO. While on a recent secondment to the San Francisco District Attorney's Office, Travis first-chaired several jury trials to successful verdicts.
